Proskills is one of a network
of 25 employer-led Sector Skills Councils tasked by the
governments of England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland
with ensuring employers have people with the right skills
to boost productivity and competitiveness.
Proskills is the Sector Skills Council for the Process and Manufacturing sector, a major part of the UK economy, including the Extractive and Mineral Processing Industries.
Proskills is firmly rooted in the industries it serves,
each of which is represented on the main board by a Director
with extensive, personal knowledge of that industry. Specific
employer-led Industry Groups, which include representatives
from Trade Unions, training and educational establishments
and other parties serving the sector, ensure that Proskills
remains focused on providing the strategic skills direction
that business is looking for. |
